Satellite Uplink

Satellite uplink stationThis great looking building was made by Salvatore and uses his top tip to make the satellite dish.

Salvatore explains: I used a scroll saw with a tilting table to construct this hexagonal piece. The sides are sloped 30 degrees. I glued a 4" hexagon on top of a 6" hexagon (1" thick foam insulation). Once the glue dried, I used the scroll saw to cut an entryway. A foamcore bulkhead was added with a popper stud for a turning wheel. See my TopTip entry for how I constructed the curved radar dish! The windows and circular access plates are made of thick card.
