If you do a search for Guernsey or Jersey fortifications you'll come across quite a few of the defenses that the Germans put up during the occupation of the Channel Islands during WW2. I grew up in Guernsey so a lot of these bunkers were places I used to play in (blimey that's along time ago now!!)

Suppose the whole concrete pillbox rotates? The 180 degrees to the rear of the gun is concrete shaped to look like rock outcrop matching the rest of a stationary rock face. The gun points inland when in disguise. The arrangement rotates 180 when it goes into action?
From seaward it looks like a long rock face until the gun rotates into position.
