Created by AndySlater for our One Inch Base Competition.
My inspiration for these was that I managed to obtain some round glitter, perfect for coins, via one of our members in Australia (Thanks reasnd). I'd also cast some chests from a Hirst Arts mould (see 1st supporting pic) and thought it would be cool to make some open versions to match them.
The chests are made from sheet balsa and scored with a knife to create a similar wood pattern to the Hirst Arts pieces. They were painted with Vallejo Tan followed by washes of brown ink and flesh wash, then some matt varnish. The straps and locks are made from cereal packet card.
Most of the items in the chests, other than the coins of course, were obtained via eBay. Most have had a little modification. For example, the cat in the chest o'gold is from a Bretonnian helm while the helmet in the chest of magical items is a similar item with all of the fancy stuff removed.
The gimpy bear is rather special and comes with a figure called Adriana from Black Scorpion Miniatures. Well the chests are for use in a dungeon!
