Term:  putty

Putty is a generic term used for a variety of materials with plastic properties and a clay or dough like malleability that find applications as fillers and sealants.
'Traditionally', putty is made by mixing finely ground chalk with linseed oil, however a number of synthetic alternatives exist, and was used extensively in glazing for fixing and sealing panes of glass into wooden frames.
In model making parlance, the term is used in reference to such products as Games Workshop's Green Stuff, Squadron Green, Squadron White, etc.
